Skin Care Shouldn’t Cause Cancer

Posted in : Skin Care

(added last year!)

The month of October is recognized as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As one of the most common cancers in women in the United States, we need to be made aware of ways to do our best to help prevent new cases. One place to start is in our bathrooms. Women would be shocked by the amount of chemicals used in products they apply to their skin, and the harm they can cause.

The majority of products on the market today contain synthetic chemicals, many of which do not provide any benefit to the skin at all. In fact, most of them are actually harmful to your health. Manufacturers have used parabens in their products, as a preservative, to then find out that there could be a correlation between parabens and cancer – due to the fact that parabens have been found in some breast cancer samples1. Even though some of those manufacturers are removing them, they are usually just replacing them with some other kind of synthetic chemical.

Chemicals do not need to be used in skin care products in order to maintain healthy skin. They can actually make your skin’s cells shut down and go into protection mode. Cells are not able to take in any nutrients if synthetic chemicals are present. They cannot replicate or regenerate.

The only thing that can consistently bring out skin’s natural ability to rebuild collagen and regenerate cells is plants. The chemicals usually do more damage than help. Lily Morgan of Lily Organics Dew Fresh Skin Care has spent the last 25 years developing and producing a skin care line that uses all natural ingredients grown on her USDA Certified Organic farm in Colorado. Lily understands the importance of all-natural ingredients and is currently going through the rigorous process of getting all of her products USDA Certified Organic, to inform her customers of the importance as well.
