While hair care is not a common conversation among male college students, it is an important topic for the female population.
Tony Promiscuo owner of Godiva Salon, graduate of the International University of Cosmetology and spokesperson for Paul Mitchell, can provide healthy hair care tips for all textures. Godiva Salon has been located in Buckhead for the past 25 years, and Promiscuo has devoted his life to enlightening the world on how to care and style hair the way it should be.
"My goal is to go out and share with hair dressers what a valuable part in society they are and how great they make people feel each and every day when they step out of a chair," said Promiscuo.
Promiscuo states that his mission as an educator is to "inspire creativity and expand peoples' knowledge of the art and design, and the salon business. I look at hair as a frame that is put there to accentuate [people]."#
With this goal in mind he has created his ultimate top ten list of tips to healthier hair. These are some of the bare essentials Promiscuo believes the public should take into consideration when correctly caring for their hair, be it female or curious males.
1. Wash your hair at least every other day. Choose a gentle shampoo and you can have a fresh style everyday. If you skip a day, your hair may require two lathers.
2. Choosing the right shampoo can be tough. Avoid shampoos that claim to be conditioning. There short term effects are good but over time can build up on hair. Instead select the one that suits your hair type. Most people require either body or control. You may alternate with one for specific challenges such as color protection or deep cleansing.
3. Daily conditioners fall into the same categories-body or control. Beyond that there are a few really effective treatments that need to remain on twenty minutes or so to be fully effective. The right product of this type can be the difference in long lasting health for your hair especially for color client.
