The latest Harley Street resident to develop his own skincare products is Dr Darren McKeown. Out now, his exclusive new Naked Truth range joins a growing collection of fashionable ‘doctor brands’ created by illustrious cosmetic doctors and surgeons, among them Dr Sebagh, Nicolas Perricone and Dr Gregory Bays Brown. But this is the first ‘affordable’ range and is exclusive to Superdrug.

Doc who’ll get under the skin... Harley Street resident launches his own skincare products

Until now, the leading doctor brand skincare products have been accessible only to those of us with a sizeable beauty budget — a 30ml helping of Dr Gregory Bays Brown’s Revive Intensite Volumising Serum, for example, will set you back an eyewatering £370.

The most expensive Naked Truth product is the Age Resistant Moisturiser at a pocket-friendly £28.99/50ml. The new range is aimed at ordinary women who want to see a visible improvement to their skin, but who cannot afford regular Botox sessions or are simply unprepared to blow their weekly food shopping budget on an eye cream.

‘I wanted to create a range that is not only scientifically proven to be effective, but is affordable, too,’ says McKeown. ‘ I’m not making any exaggerated claims — my products simply do exactly what they say on the box.’So, if you can’t afford an appointment in Dr McKeown’s Harley Street surgery, but you still want to save face, these products might just be worth a try.
