Hair care tips

July 2, 2010 |13:25 | General Information | Hair Care  By : Team X

HAIRSTYLIST Yuko Yamashita, an expert in smooth and manageable hair, shares some simple techniques that anyone can put into practice for smooth, glossy hair: Hold a strand of your hair, and drape another over it. Smooth hair will slide down easily, while rough hair will not.

Use a brush with natural bristles. Plastic bristles create static that will make your hair frizz. Don’t brush excessively. It can damage your hair cuticles, leading to frizz. Brushing should only be done for massaging the scalp and releasing tangles.

Know your hair type before selecting products. Use hair dryers and straightening irons very carefully. These are the most common causes of hair damage. Shampoo should only be used to remove dirt from your scalp. Massage well into scalp to clean it thoroughly. Do not rub shampoo into your hair itself, as this will damage the hair. The lather from the shampoo is enough to clean the hair.

Tip-top hair for summer

June 23, 2010 |13:28 | General Information | Hair Care  By : Team X

Oh, the irony. There’s so much stress in planning a relaxing holiday. After booking flights and working out how many suitcases I can get away with comes the angst of personal preparation. I have to remember to use Cellulite-Pro turbo on my thighs every night in wishful attempt to vanish dimples.

Tip-top hair for summer

I need to find a flattering new bikini so as not to look like a sea cow in the surf. Then I need to book an all-over body wax so I’m smoother than a varnished coffee table, followed by a bronze fake tan. Then there is the hair and whether to colour pre-trip or not to colour at all.

Dry Brittle Hair Care

June 7, 2010 |17:39 | General Information | Hair Care  By : Team X

Dry Brittle Hair CareDry brittle hair care is focused on moisture retention in the follicle shaft, root, and sheath as well as improving capillary circulation that feds the scalp and hair.  Hair becomes brittle from lack of moisture and leads to dry hair.

Moisture can come internally through diet and certain hair vitamins and minerals, or can come externally through conditioners that coat and protect or through treatments that infuse moisture through active oingredients or cream bases.

Dry brittle hair care begins with avoiding depleting moisture through heat-damage during styling and using top products for dry hair.  Use lower settings for blow dryers and styling appliances.

And look for tourmaline coatings on curling irons and flat irons.  For long-term dry brittle hair care, ensure you use products developed to moisturize.

The Chemistry of Better Skin Care

May 28, 2010 |15:43 | General Information | Hair Care  By : Team X

Much like a recipe, the chemistry of skin care is a process. For best results, not only must the finest ingredients be used, but each must be introduced and combined in just the right amount, and at just the right time. Anyone who’s ever had a cake fall flat can appreciate the delicacy and precision of the process; however, while a botched recipe may hold dire consequences for cooking ware, a poorly formulated skin care product can wreak havoc on skin.

Choosing the Right Ingredients Depending on the product’s intended purpose, ingredients can range from exfoliants and cell stimulators to antioxidants. Often, cosmeceutical products combine different types of ingredients to treat multiple aspects of a condition; however, simply mixing raw ingredients will deliver limited results at best, even if they are the best ingredients available.

Daily Hair Care

You may not spend much time thinking about it, but your daily hair care routine can make a real impact on your appearance. Washing your hair too often or not often enough, using the wrong hair products, even how you brush your hair can either enhance its luster or cause dryness and damage.

Daily hair care also includes caring for your scalp because that’s where hair develops. The hair below the surface of your skin is the part that’s alive; you need to nourish these roots in order for the hair shaft the part of the hair that’s exposed to appear healthy and lustrous. Choosing moisturizing hair care products and minimizing blow drying and chemical treatments to your hair keeps your scalp and your hair looking its best.

How to Fight Fine-Hair Frizz

March 31, 2010 |12:51 | General Information | Hair Care  By : Team X

How to Fight Fine-Hair FrizzFrizz isn't just a problem for women with coarse, curly hair plenty of fine-haired folks get it, too, especially if you color your hair, which frays the cuticle and allows water to enter the hair shaft, swelling it open.

But many smoothing products can flatten fine hair, so you used to be left to pick your battles. Now, though.

There are smoothing products designed specifically for fine hair, and if you follow these tips, you'll find that body and sheen can go hand-in-hand (or, should we say, strand-in-strand).

1. Try water-based smoothing products. They're lighter than creams and tame frizz well on fine hair. Just be sure to apply only from ear-level down on damp hair (then you can work a volumizer through your roots if needed). No Frizz Straight Making Styling Spray contains a lightweight, nonsilicone molecule that repels moisture. Moroccanoil Light is a less concentrated version of the cult favorite anti-frizz oil.

Hair Care

December 10, 2009 |13:46 | General Information | Hair Care  By : Team X

Hair CareThe structure of hair is similar like the scales on the skin of a fish, that has overlapping scales around a central core called the cortical.

Smooth overlapping produce shiny hair and smooth the hair looks. This also provides easy combing while a tangled or rough structure makes the hair look dull.

Nutrition and lifestyle are two key factors that sway the health of the hair. Poor diet, illness, vitamin and mineral deficiencies affects the strength of hair and conditions like dandruff, thinning hair, balding, premature graying etc. spoil the hair.

For an individual the hair condition completely constitute the reflection of him. If the person is not healthy then the hair would be in worst state.
